Sewer Service

The sewer system is municipally owned consisting of a wastewater treatment plant built in 1955 and upgraded in 1978 with over 105,000 feet of gravity collection lines and approximately 9,200 feet of forced mains. Sewer rates are based on water usage at a rate of $4.7314 per 1,000 gallons with a minimum per unit quarterly sewer charge of $48.00.

If you experience a sewer back up or other sewer emergency, if possible, call the wastewater treatment plant at (717) 838-3121 during regular business hours, Monday-Friday, 7:00 am-3:30 pm or Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays 7:00 am-11:00 am. After business hours or if no answer, please call the Palmyra Police Department at 717-838-8189 and they will contact the appropriate sewer personnel.
