To the honorable residents of Upland:

Your Police Department welcomes all of you to the Upland Borough Police web page. Here you will find the names and photographs of all of the sworn and civilian members of your department, whom are here to serve you.

I am your Chief of Police, John R. Easton. I am offering Upland Borough over 37 years of police experience to assist in maintaining and bolstering the quality of living that you deserve.

I've recently retired from the Delaware County District Attorney's Office, where I was assigned to the Homicide Unit. I was employed by the DA's Office for the last 21 years; however I have 24 years with the County in law enforcement.

I hold a Bachelors Degree, in Business and Organizational Management, from Eastern University. I am a graduate of The Federal Bureau of Investigation Academy, where I studied Homicide and Death Investigations, Labor Relations and Collective Bargaining, Firearms, and Physical Fitness training.

I hope that my tenure with Upland Borough gives you, the residents, a positive outlook of your police department, and I hope that all of you will embrace your Department as a welcomed part of the Community. WE ARE HERE TO PROTECT AND SERVE YOU.

FULL TIME OFFICERS



Detective Michael Curran

Officer Curran graduated from Delaware County Police Academy in 2004 and started working for Upland Borough Police Department in February 2006. Officer Curran was recently promoted to investigator in March 2008 and detective in June 2009, and also promoted to a full time position in June of 2008. Detective Curran has been trained in the following, Drug Identification, Gang Awareness, Electronic collection specialist, Domestic violence training for law enforcement, Law enforcement prevention and deterrence of terrorist acts, Taser X26 Law Enforcement Training, Proactive Interdiction: apprehending drug smugglers and terrorists on the streets and highways of America, West nickel Mines School Shooting Training, Gang Awareness and identification (train the trainer), Pennsylvania State Police Bureau Of Research and Development, The Four phases of sexual assault crimes, Standardized field sobriety testing, Principles of interviewing children, Digital Evidence Collection Training,  Forensic DNA Analysis and Biological Evidence Collection and Preservation, Sobriety Checkpoints, Pennsylvania State Police: Basic Criminal Investigation, Enforcement of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Inspection Regulations, Plain Touch/NIK Polytesting System, NIK Polytesting System of Narcotics Identification Competency Level Course. Detective Curran has conducted criminal investigation with neighboring towns, along with the National Guard, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Detective Curran is also in charge of training for new officers in Mobile Data Terminals, Live scan, and is the J-Tac Officer. Detective Curran has also received three accommodations from the Borough of Upland.



Corporal Daniel DiNardo

I graduated from the Delaware County Police Academy in 2005.  I was hired by Upland Borough in April 2006.  Since being on the Upland Police force have participated in DUI Checkpoints with neighboring Boroughs, made drug arrests, and domestic abuse arrests.  I recently became certified in DNA Collection.  I have a strong desire to become a D.A.R.E. Officer, which specialized in drug and alcohol issues, it also gives me a chance to interact with children.  I will be going to Range Master School early in 2009, and will be the Range Master for the Department.  I will be a full-time officer for Upland Borough effective December 1, 2008.


Officer Brian Boyd

Began his career as a Security Officer with Allied Barton Security Services. In 2005, Officer Boyd was one of eight chosen to represent Allied Barton Security's community outreach. He was stationed in the regions of Louisiana and Texas for one month, assisting among the relief efforts of both Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita. In 2006, Officer Boyd graduated among the Dean's List from Delaware County Police Academy. In 2007, he accepted a full-time position with Delaware County Park Police. Officer Boyd has also maintained part-time employment with Upland Police Department, where he has been assigned to the Bicycle Patrol Unit and Patrol Division since mid 2007. In June of 2008 Officer Boyd was awarded with Superior Performance of Duty. I have attended FTO School and will be the Field Training Officer for the Department.  I will be a full-time officer for Upland Borough effective December 1, 2008.

 

Officer Anthony DeLuise

Attended Pleasant Valley High School. He has a Bachelors degree in Sociology with concentration in Criminology, from Albright College. He graduated from the Delaware County Police Academy in June of 2008, and was offered a part-time position with Upland Borough Police Department. Officer DeLuise was promoted to a full-time officer effective March 2010.
